Heel Lifts are orthotic components that sit underneath the heel region and raise the leg, pelvis & hip by a specific amount. They tilt forward towards the toes and can be used with or without orthotics.
Heel Lifts are excellent for the treatment of:
- Ankle Sprains
- Achilles Tendonitis
- Calf Strains
- Insertional Achilles Tendinopathy
- Achilles Enthesopathy
- Anterior Ankle Impingement
- Ankle Synovitis
- Lower back pain created by an imbalance of the leg, hip &/or pelvis
Heel Lifts can reduce stress on the ankle, achilles tendon and calf during weight bearing activities such as walking and running; particularly in the case of decreased ankle or calf flexibility, which can accelerate recovery from injury and reduce injury aggravation, pain and swelling. Heel Lifts are often recommended by chiropractors to balance unequal leg length (“leg length discrepancy”), or to treat pain in the lower back, hips or knees resulting from leg length differences.
