What is Chiropractic?

What is Chiropractic?

Chiropractic is the world’s largest non-surgical, non- drug prescribing, primary contact health care profession.
A natural approach to health, chiropractic focuses on the relationship between the spine and nervous system.
Chiropractic is based on the scientific fact that the human body is a self-regulating, self organising, self healing organism.
It operates by restoring the bodies inborn ability to be healthy.

So What Does Chiropractic Do?

The chiropractor locates impairments of the bodies nervous system known as vertebral subluxations.
The vertebral subluxation is where the joints of the spine move abnormally, this may be partially or fully immobile.
This abnormal joint motion causes a blocking of the transmission of nerve impulses from the spine to the brain. The brain receives only pain sensory impulses from this region of the spine.

So How Come I Don’t Always Feel Pain?

So how come we don’t always feel this process going on? Well fortunately for us, the brain only notifies us of a problem when it is more than the system can cope with, other wise we would feel constant pain. This is one of the reasons that when you show up for your adjustment, feeling like you didn’t need the appointment, the chiropractor finds sore points on the spine.
Being well is far more than not having pain!

So Why Don’t I always Feel Good After an Adjustment?

When the chiropractor corrects the abnormal joint motion with the adjustment and restores the motion back to the spine, the spinal muscles have to change their previous static position to a mobile one. This takes work by the muscles, as we all know work is tiring and the body feels this change. When the process is complete and the joints remain with the motion set, you will feel well.
